Audio File Questions

1. I can't hear the samples. What do I need to do? - back to top

To listen to the samples, you will need one of the following media players:
Windows Media Player: http://www.microsoft.com
Real Audio Player: http://www.real.com
Quicktime: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html :
WinAmp: http://www.winamp.com :
iTunes Player: http://www.apple.com

If you use iTunes as your default mp3 player, samples may open up a new Quicktime browser window in order to play. If this browser window is minimized or moves into the background (because you click on another browser window), the current sample will continue to play, but no additional samples will play until you open the browser window again. We are currently working to change the way samples are played so that this issue goes away. We apologize for the inconvenience. In the meantime, you may wish to make Windows Media your default player for mp3 files. You can do this by opening Windows Media, select the Tools menu, go to options and under File Types select Mp3. This should eliminate the problem.

2. When I click on the link to download the file, the file starts to play

To save a linked file on a PC, right click on the link and select “Save target as” and then chose the location to save the file. To save a file on a Mac, follow the same steps, excluding the first step. Instead of right clicking on “Save target as” you will control-click and select “Download linked file”.

3. I'm having problems with the audio files and I'm using AOL or MSN. What do I need to do?

Make sure to turn off any spam filters the browser may have in place. If that doesn’t work, try downloading the most recent version of internet explorer, firefox, or safari.

Lead Sheet / Guitar Chart Questions

1. When I click on the link to download the file, the file that opens is a bunch of code. What do I need to do?

Please close your window and reopen the link in a new window.

2. When the file opens up in Adobe Acrobat Reader, I get an error. What do I need to do?

Make sure you are using the most recent version of Acrobat Reader. Also try saving the file instead of opening from the link. Click here to download Acrobat Reader.

3. What do the Lead Sheets look like?

A lead sheet is a form of music notation that describes the melody, lyrics and harmony of a song. It resembles a traditional chart and includes the chord symbols and lyrics above and below the music notation. Click here for a low-res example of our lead sheets.

4. What are Guitar Charts?

A guitar chart is another form of music notation aimed specifically at the guitar. There are two popular ways to notate guitar charts. Instead of notes, strings are represented by the lines and frets are represented by numbers on lines. Sometimes at each chord change, the chord will be noted out in a grid. Our chord charts are also created with lyrics to show when to change chords as you play and sing the song. Click here for a low-res example of our chord charts.

5. What are Cut Capo Charts?

These are charts involving a capo applied at the second fret on the A, D and G strings, forming an Esus chord.

3. The Mp3, Sheet or Chart link is grey and will not allow me to download the file. Why?

If a link is in grey, then it is not an active link. This is usually because the item is unavailable for various reasons. Please e-mail info@greatworshipsongs.com if a link was active and is now inactive. We will do our best to make sure all is working correctly.

4. Where I can find information about song usage and CCLI reporting?

All information can found at www.ccli.com.

5. I'm a songwriter and would like to have my material reviewed. What is your submission policy?

The best advance for a songwriter is to start playing your music within your church and local community.
